From looking at facts, I found out that soy foods are among the most nutritionally viable products available today. Its suggested to positively impact various health issues, including cardiovascular disease, menopausal symptoms, diabetes, obesity and certain types of cancer. Soy is an exceptional protein alternative easily accessed by patients of all socioeconomic groups. I think soy is good for you and don't think there is very many negative consequences.
There are a lot of good things about industral farming but there are also some bad. The bad effects of industrial faming is that I think there will be more diseases and pesticides out there. I also don't like the way they treat the animals.

Alcohol
Teenagers are probably the biggest group attracted to the fascination with drinking alcohol. The idea of a group of under-twenty one getting drunk in a friend’s house or a local park has become a part of both the media and everyday life.
A lot of teens who drink, don't think about the long-term affects it has on the body. The long term effects of alcohol in excessive quantities is capable of damaging nearly every organ and system in the body. It is believed that the human brain is finished developing before adolescence is reached, but new research shows that is not true. According to the AAAS ongoing brain research shows that important brain development takes place well into a person’s twenties. The important brain regions and their interconnections develop into early adulthood. The brain consists of over 100 billion neurons, each of which makes tens of thousands of connections. Alcohol damages and kills neurons and perhaps alter developing parts of the adolescent brain that are still forming.
I think people are driven to use drugs and alcohol mainly because people around them do it or they have nothing better to do. I think many teens do it to fit in or to be less uptight and loosen up around there friends. I don't think alcohol should be banned completely but I think people should look out for teens and keep them from doing it.

Rachel's Challenge
I really enjoyed Rachel's Challenge and it made an impact on the way I act around people now. I'm really trying to be nice to everyone and sticking up for those being bullied. After watching this presentation, it made me think about the important things in life like my friends and family. I really appriciate the ones who care about me. I want to be remembered as someone who is nice and funny and cares about people. I want to carry on a legacy like Rachel where people will remember me and think of being kind to others.
Decision Making
Making a GOOD decision: Goals, Options, Opinion, Document.
The GOOD acronym provides a construct for communicating with patients and others involved in making such difficult decisions. GOOD decision making for such problems is a cooperative venture that involves input from patients, families, and health care providers.I like this one better because it makes clearer sense and its more simple.
EXAMPLE PROBLEMA example problem would be making a decision of what college you want to go to.
GOALS-You would first think about G for Goals. You have to think of what your goals are in life and what you want to do.
OPTIONS-The second letter is O for Options. You have to look at the different colleges and you need to analyze your options.
OPINION-The third letter is O which stands for Opinion. You need to make an opinion of what college you want to attend and the best one that would suit you.
DOCUMENT-The last letter D stands for Document. It means that you should write down the different colleges and compare prices, and what they have to offer.
Using the GOOD acronym will help you make good decisions in life.

About me
Hello I'm Carolyn Eckendorf and this is my blog. I go to Fairview High School and I also live in Fairview. I moved here in Kindergarden from Erie. I have a brother and a sister that also attended and is attending Fairview now. I love to play sports. In the fall I run cross country, in the winter I dive and in the spring I run track and field. I love spending time with friends and family. I love food and going out to eat. Some of my favorite foods are pizza, fettucini alfredo, cake, and smoothies. I'm creative and I like to draw. When I graduate High School Im not sure what I want to do yet but I'm thinking about attending Penn State University and doing something with designing. In the future, I would like to own a business. I'm looking forward to this year.
